My client a leading online retailer, have an exciting opportunity for an experienced merchandiser (wholesale or core), to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the sales of a new and growing business area. The role requires an enthusiastic and ambitious individual who wants to be part of a key growth business channel.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key selling support and retail store managers, ensuring that products are fully merchandised at all times. You will be expected to review store by store sales data on an on-going basis and make continuous improvements to merchandising procedures. Your aim will also be to facilitate improved placement and increased exposure during key trading periods.
The successful applicant should expect to spend over 50% of their time out of the office visiting stores and building relationships with key store staff.
• Devise and work to a rolling schedule of store visits to build relationships with store management and develop knowledge of merchandising principles
• Manage additional merchandisers (either sub-contracted or as direct reports)
• Strategically contribute to the discussions surrounding the commercial trade plan
• Manage any potential sales risks and trade gaps with planned promotions and marketing campaigns
• Ensure merchandise and stock is in the right place at the right time
• Establish strong and productive relationships with key retail accounts
• Produce and monitor trade performance reporting alongside Senior Account Manager
• Ensure a great brand proposition is delivered for our partners
• Monitor competitor activity and performance
• Educate store staff on the brand, our products and USP’s
• Support with store roll our plans and ad hoc retail projects
• Actively look for ways to improve processes, making them more efficient and cost effective
• Log notes from store visits on Salesforce and produce reporting
• Work with store management to ensure optimum unit locations in store
• You must have significant, commercial, retail merchandising experience
• Experienced in negotiating
• Proven delivery of commercial targets
• Strong analytical, planning and strategic skills
• Outstanding communicator and team player
• Previous experience of managing stock delivery into and returns from retailers is highly desirable
• Previous team management experience
• You must have a full UK driver’s license and a car
